Aquarius Web Hosting Pvt Ltd. (AWPL) now has 4 datacentres where its servers are located. As a dedicated server customer you can choose the backbone / line strength you would like to your server. The centres each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Centre 1: Strength : VSNL backbone with more than 3000+ local points of interconnect inside India and an multiple fibre routing outside India. Excellent UPS backup using Emerson switches thereby leading to almost zero downtime. Weakness: Very high prices. Ideal for: Multinationals and high uptime database / mails servers Centre 2: Strength : REACH & NIXI backbones Excellent routing to most of the world via REACH nodes. Good datacentre at affordable prices Weakness: UPS backup does not have Emerson Switches but is quite good. Minor downtimes due to issues at NIXI end, purely NIXI based. Ideal for: Servers requiring high International connectivity Centre 3: Strength : VSNL backbone with more than 3000+ local points of interconnect inside India and an multiple fibre routing outside India. Weakness: Standard UPS with generator backup. Physical terrestrial fibre connectivity so rare downtimes due to physical fibre damage. Ideal for: Servers requiring good connectivity but not mission critical like Central Accounts servers, Database servers running low end MIS etc. Centre 4: Strength : Bharti backbone with direct access to the I2I fibre which further connects to the A2A and C2C fibres giving excellent connectivity outside India. Weakness: Mediocre UPS with generator backup. Single routing via Bharti whose local Indian routing leaves a bit to be desired. Ideal for: Servers requiring 24 X 7 connectivity but not mission critical like Central Accounts servers, Database servers running low end MIS etc. |
