Montage Technology Announces Series Production of First Generation DDR5 Product Family

With the rapid development of information technology, memory technology has now evolved into the new era of DDR5. As a leading supplier of memory interfaces and an active contributor to JEDEC memory standards, Montage Technology has been dedicated to the continuous innovation of memory interface technology to meet evolving needs. Montage’s first generation DDR5 RCD and DB chips support data rate up to 4800Mbps, 50% higher than the maximum data rate of DDR4, and have lower power consumption with VDD of 1.1 V. Using the new signal calibration protocol and equalization technology, these two chips can greatly improve signal integrity for the memory system.

Compared to the predecessors, the DDR5 memory module has a revolutionary architecture and requires additional support components in addition to DRAM and memory interface devices. To meet this demand, Montage deployed DDR5 SPD Hub, TS and PMIC compatible chips to offer multi-channel power supplies and management, multi-point temperature sensors and I3C serial bus and hub functions. These chips work in conjunction with RCD and DB to promote memory modules to achieve comprehensive improvements in bandwidth, capacity, power efficiency and reliability.

As an ecosystem partner close to Intel, Montage was invited to attend the Intel Innovation event to present these DDR5 products through videos, images and flyers on a virtual booth at October 27-28, 2021.

“With extensive knowledge and successful experiences in the development and production of DDR2, DDR3 and DDR4 generations, Montage is pleased to provide DDR5 memory interface solutions with improved performance and reliability for both server and client systems. Intel ”said Georges findley, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Montage Technology.

“Intel and Montage have worked closely together in the memory field for over a decade. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Montage in the age of DDR5, ”said Carolyn Duran, group vice president of data platforms and general manager of memory and I / O technologies at Intel.

Montage is ready to leverage its deep expertise and deep ecosystem relationships in the memory industry to continuously deliver comprehensive memory interface solutions to ecosystem partners and customers, and bring more major contribution to the data center, cloud computing and artificial intelligence markets.
